Hi there, welcome! I'm not sure what brought you here - but thanks for visiting and hope you've found something useful from my open journal.
I'm Danni, aka FEAST Hong Kong :)
In early 2021, I had been contemplating starting a food IG account, just for fun. I didn't dwell on it too much and it wasn't until I had a ridiculously underwhelming meal that I decided - what the heck, why not?
I bet you're wondering what the meal was (no? you don't care? that's cool 🥲)....well I'll tell you anyway. After a doctors appointment in Central Hong Kong, I decided to have a nice meal with my sister before rushing back home to start my WFH day. We decided on a bougie-looking Indian restaurant, because I mean - when in Central 🤷♀️
I'm not going to name names, because the experience wasn't THAT bad - it was just ~fusion~. The venue itself was/is beautiful. The service were so friendly, and the food presentation was amazing. Plus - at the time they were offering free flow wine, which is a fun mid-workday treat. But the curry had not one ounce of spice 💀 I looooove a cheeky bit of spice, so you can imagine that the complete lack of 🌶 did not sit right with me. It was the fact that if you dismissed the curry, the dining experience itself was delightful - the ambience, the service, the menu, the free flow, the starters. But no spice?????? In my curry?????
TLDR; I started a food Instagram because I was annoyed that my curry wasn't spicy enough (or like, at all lmao). And now, two-ish years later - here I am! Starting out this blog because, when life gets crazy - why not add more to your to-do list?
Anyways - thanks for coming and hope you stick around. Have a lovely day! 👋
